Massachusetts New Law Protects Rights of Breastfeeding Mothers

The following two articles are both reports and reactions to Massachusetts new laws protecting the rights of breastfeeding mothers. Prior to the change, a breastfeeding mom could be charged with indecent exposure, and would have to register as a sex offender! Now moms are not only allowed to breastfeed publicly, but anyone who harasses a breastfeeding mother can be charged a $500 fine. While I’m glad for the breastfeeding families of Massachusetts, I’m pretty stunned that in 2009, this law is just now being changed.

I’m proud of the work of American Lactivists, who help change these antiquated policies. Keep up the good work.
